At the beginning of December, in what was a horrific accident, five high school students lost their lives. It devastated the small community I work in, and was truly a tragedy words cannot explain. Taking photographs that week was extraordinarily difficult. I tried my best to walk the fine line between making news pictures and giving space to those who were grieving. And a remarkable effort by those in the community to pull together and support one another, raising funds for the families affected, was humbling to witness.
I'm a photojournalist based in central Pennsylvania. I enjoy science-fiction movies, sketching and reading. I work for a small daily called The Evening Sun, check it out here www.eveningsun.com
