Summer Part One

A lack of blog attention is becoming a serious issue with me lately and for that an apology is deserved. Admittedly I am in a rut, economically and creatively. It feels like stalemate and it's disconcerting.
I've had two freelance assignments since I ended my time at the Evening Sun several months ago and I've finished filming a documentary I've been working on, as well as preparing for the assumed-to-be-chaotic upcoming G20 summit. Otherwise productivity feels like it's at a standstill. Finding stable employment has been very difficult. But the blog keeps me motivated, the primary reason I have it.
I have been shooting daily life for it most all summer and I've collected a big edit of images to post about things I've done recently and plan a two or three part series of summer pictures starting with these, and it's going to be mostly personal. Lately I've felt as if the past few months have been a giant exploration of my life. I sorta feel like that's the stage I am in right now - when I left the newspaper, and drove across the large rural state of PA I had a sinking feeling that the future was unknown, but what was more important was I have no idea who I am, as a person and as a photographer. The past few months moving back to this weird city has put new perspectives in hindsight. I can't comment much further then that except I am not the same person I was six months ago and I'm not the same person I was yesterday and to photograph is to express that.
